Weapons
A variety of exotic Weapons can be found around Halantrea. Characters are not proficient with them by default; most of these are somewhat specific to Region, Culture, or Training - consider how your Character learned to use one of them.
Parrying Dagger
Martial One-Handed Melee Weapon, 1d4 Piercing
Finesse
If a creature within 5ft of you misses you with a Melee Weapon Attack, you can use your Reaction to attack them with this weapon.
A small piercing weapon, usually held in the offhand. Unlike normal Daggers, these have a focus on protection and catching an opponents weapon.
The specific design of this varies greatly with region and personal taste, but it usually involves an extensive handguard. Some integrate hooks or spikes to 'trap' a blade.
Mountain-Greatsword
Martial Two-Handed Melee Weapon, 1d10 Slashing
Heavy
+1 AC. Requires 17 Strength or higher.
An extremely heavy Greatsword that has a much broader flat side than usual Greatswords. The added weight slightly hinders its offensive capabilities.
Traditionally a weapon of the Everglades' Goliaths, the large broadside of this Sword is also used for defense.
As it became popular to hire Goliaths as muscle throughout Halantra, its use became more widespread, especially in the Iron Redoubt and the Yuan-Ti princedoms of northern Antekai.
Bladed Buckler
Martial Shield, 1d4 Slashing or Piercing
Light
+1 AC. Can be used in Two-Weapon-Fighting like normal Light Weapons.
A small metal buckler with bladed edges or pointed ends. Provides a good mix of defensive and offensive capabilities.*
While its sometimes seen as a Bandits choice, this type of buckler has found popularity with skirmishers across Halantrea. Designs are highly varied, from rough modified bucklers to beautiful sweeping and leaflike elvish shapes.
